Financial Management for 70 Companies in the BHM Holding. Why the investment giant relies on outsourcing at TaxVision?
Client: BHM Group
About the Client: Who is BHM Group
BHM is a large, dynamically growing holding structure that groups around 200 companies globally (70 of which are in the Czech Republic). Their scope is extremely broad – from the Medtech sector (operating room equipment and hospital bed manufacturing) under the Reinsberg Group and Köttermann brands, to development and residential construction (e.g. Icon Park in Kladno or Terasy Kralupy), hotel-type accommodation in Prague under the Adrez brand, logistics halls in Slovakia or Slovenia under the BHM Parks brand, and solar and wind power projects in Finland in the BHM Renewables portfolio. The group also continues to grow through startup investments and acquisitions of running businesses.
1. Challenge: Complexity and Discretion
Managing accounting and taxes for 70 local companies spread across various segments is 'advanced accounting'. The biggest challenge is not just the volume of data itself, but above all the ability to navigate the complex structure – to understand who communicates with whom, what the links between partners are, and how individual business models work.
When BHM was looking for a solution to manage this giant agenda years ago, it faced a decision: build a huge internal team, or go the outsourcing route?
"The main reason for choosing TaxVision back then was clearly cost savings. We did not have to invest internally in the expensive building of accounting knowledge and capacities. Another critical factor was payroll – we wanted to delegate the agenda outside for data anonymity."
2. Solution: Unified Framework and Dedicated Segment Experts
As BHM grows and adds more entities, cooperation had to be systematized. The turning point for both sides was the creation of a comprehensive master agreement and the introduction of a unified price list with clear amendments.
In order for us at TaxVision to serve such a diverse portfolio, we divided the agenda. Each of our accountants is responsible for a specific business segment of BHM. Our people communicate across teams, share context, but at the same time maintain deep expertise in their specific area, whichever segment from the BHM portfolio it may be.
3. Why It Works: Stability That Not Even an Internal Team Can Match
There are many large consulting firms on the market, but BHM remains loyal to TaxVision. Why change what works?
4. Partnership Summary through the Client's Eyes
When we asked Jan Vobořil to summarize our cooperation for another financial manager of a similarly large holding, he smiled: "I would definitely recommend TaxVision; the expertise-to-price ratio is simply excellent. I just hope they don't take our clever people away!"
